This is the official website of the League of Women Voters of East Multnomah County. In 2010, we celebrated our 50th year of service. 

The League is strictly unbiased and absolutely non-partisan. We do not support political parties or candidates.

Become a League Member: If you are 18 or older, the League needs you!

The League of Women Voters has more than 100,000 members—men and women in all 50 states and U.S. Territories. We have been a partner in numerous global democracy initiatives. We do hands-on work to safeguard democracy for the greater good.

Some of the things we do:

  • Register millions to vote.
  • Defend voting rights.
  • Teach students and citizens about their rights and responsibilities.
  • Sponsor candidate debates and public affairs forums.
  • Inform through our in-depth studies and nonbiased issues forums.
  • Take action, lobby, and testify on the issues you care about.
  • Help put good laws on the books. 

LWV-EMCO PURPOSES

Upcoming Public Information Meeting

Please join us at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at our Public Information Meeting held at MetroEast TV station in Gresham (829 NE 8th).

The meeting presentation will be recorded and televised at a later date.


Topic: Privatization of Government Services

Before the program begins, there will be a brief presentation of the May ballot meaures by Dr. Susan Foster, League of Women Voters of East Multnomah County.



Presenter: Ron AndersonPublic Relations Officer for Public Affairs, United State Postal Service

Ron will explain the structure of the US Postal Service and discuss the organization's future plans, including a short, general information video.

This presentation will be followed by a brief question and answer session.
